Full-Color Vs. Single-Color:

When To Choose Full-Color Drinkware

There’s a time and place for every imprint. Find out when full-color decoration is the preferred choice for your client’s project by looking for these telltale signs and situations.

Your Clients Have Complex
or Colorful Artwork

While sometimes your clients will have simple single-color logos, it's often not the case. When your customers come to you with graphics that contain many colors, intricate details or photorealistic art, full-color decoration should be your first thought. For example, full-color digital direct technology from Baltimore Glassware Decorators has no color restrictions and can produce photo-quality images on many products. Your clients will also be able to enjoy no minimums, perfect registration and low-cost setups, especially compared to multicolor screen printing, which typically requires high minimums, specific registration tolerances and expensive setup costs.

Drinkware Needs To Attract Attention

Ask your clients what their ideal outcome is for their branded drinkware. If they respond by saying they want to get noticed, attract attention or generate buzz, full-color decoration is the way to go. Not only will vibrant, colorful graphics stand out from a sea of single-color imprints, they’ll also get people talking about your client’s brand – and their impressive full-color drinkware, of course.

Your Clients Want To Maximize the Imprint Area

When it comes to full-color drinkware, there’s more branding real estate than meets the eye. This is especially true when you partner with Baltimore Glassware Decorators, who have mastered the art of maximizing imprint space on glassware. Their full-color digital direct decoration allows for full-coverage, 360° wrap-around edge-to-edge artwork, as well as mirror printing, which means designs can be seen on the inside of glasses too. Want to get really creative? Make that "mirror" graphic different artwork than the outer graphic for double the branding potential on every drinkware item.

Mirror Printing: How Does It Work?

Standard digital printing involves laying down three layers: a white base layer, a colored layer and a finish varnish. With mirror printing, an additional colored layer is placed before the white base layer, allowing graphics to be seen from the other side of the glass for a more high-end look.

Projects Require Multiple Graphics

You may encounter client projects that require more than one graphic within the same order. Some examples: a bar or restaurant that wants branded glasses for each beer they have on tap, or a corporate awards program that wants drinkware decked out for each department being honored. In these situations, it’s simply not cost-effective to choose single-color decoration methods such as screen printing. This is because individual screens will need to be created for each design, which can result in costly setup fees that drive up the project's price.

Full-color digital direct decoration from Baltimore Glassware Decorators doesn’t require screens to be made for each graphic, so there’s no limit on how many different designs your clients can get emblazoned on their drinkware.

Your Clients Want Retail-Quality Products

For projects such as gifts, awards or merch to be sold in stores, you need your chosen decoration method to match the upscale appeal your clients are looking for. In these situations, full-color decoration should be one of the first methods you suggest to your clients due to its high perceived value. Recipients will recognize they’ve been given a quality piece of glassware and will in turn come to appreciate your client’s brand even more. This high perceived value will result in excellent brand recall and ensure each piece of drinkware is held onto longer and used more often.
